Micah 6:8 NRSV
He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Think of the “biggest jerk” that you know. Think about the behaviors that this person demonstrates that cause you to have such strong feelings against him or her. Think about if you are guilty of demonstrating some of these same behaviors. Think about all the times in your life that your behaviors have been inconsistent with your Christian beliefs. Think about how God has forgiven you time after time for the same repeated behaviors. We are expected to forgive just as God has forgiven us. We are shown undeserved grace and mercy, and we are expected to show grace and mercy to all the “Jerks” in our life.
The world needs mercy. Let’s show mercy.
PS- There is a chance that someone reading this devotion identified you as their “biggest jerk”. 😊

Heavenly Father, we are forgiven for so much. You show us undeserved grace and mercy. You forgive us as we are to forgive others. Help us to give people and ourselves a break for not being perfect. In Jesus name, Amen
