Youth Basketball

Youth Basketball is held in the late fall and winter with teams made up of Mid-High Boys and Girls, and Senior High Boys and Girls. In February these teams participate in the Annual UMC State Basketball Championship in which Grace Senior High Boys earned the 2016 State Champions. Our Senior Girls won the ACAA League Champions title.

Curly’s Court in the Family Center

There is a full indoor sports activity gym located on campus that is available for indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, and other activities. The gym is  loved and enjoyed by preschool kids, middle and high school youth, and even the older young at heart Grace members. Youth Church groups from around the CSRA use the Gym for Christian Youth Basketball and other activities.

When special youth events such as D-Now are held at Grace, Curly’s Court becomes a very important part of their Christian growth and development. It is a modern, climate controlled facility that has been used by  Nike for their Elite Youth Basketball program that brings the top high school basketball players from around the US and Canada to North Augusta. The local Jazzercise program provides fitness activities Monday through Saturday. The Gym may be scheduled through the Gym Coordinator Rodney Kight (706-339-2778), or the church office.

Thurmond Lake Recreational Facility

Recreation and play forms an important part of ministering to the total person. The very word itself means to “RE-CREATE” that with which God has blessed us. Keeping that in mind, Grace Church has twenty-one acres of land on Thurmond Lake available for our members’ use. The facilities include a lodge with kitchen, a bathhouse, areas for tent camping, a swimming area with beach, picnic areas, and a boat landing. For a nominal fee, keys are available from the church office. Please call the church office for more information. For a lakesite pamphlet, click here.
