Music Ministry
As we progress through the summer months we are reminded of the swift change around us. We are mindful all that is possible and our music is illustrative of that. Our Sanctuary Music program is happy to host fall performances. The first one on Nov. 19 features our own Chancel Choir, local school groups, and choral groups from the University of South Carolina. Our Chancel Choir also looks ahead to the season of Advent and the music of Christmastime, including the return of Sing We Now of Christmas on the evening of December 11.
Sanctuary Music
Wesley Singers
This opportunity is for children in first through fifth grades that would like to participate and learn the joys of praising God through singing. The Wesley Singers are involved in the Traditional service and Lifesong throughout the year. The children begin to learn the fundamentals of music along with performance etiquette and how singing is used in worship for God’s glory. The choir meets most Sundays from 4:00 – 5:00 pm in the Chancel Choir room. Adult assistance is always welcome! Contact Suzanne Fowley if you’d like to help
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is a volunteer group of singers whose ministry is music. They provide musical assistance and leadership in the worship of God in the Traditional Service at 11:00 AM each Sunday. They are dedicated to excellence in the worship experience and sing a variety of sacred music through the liturgical year as well as seasonal concerts. The Chancel Choir is a place where members can use their talents for the glory of God and enjoy the fellowship of other believers. The choir rehearses each Wednesday at 7PM in the choir room. All are welcome to participate.

LifeSong Contemporary Service Praise Teams
Ephesians 1:11-14 says… “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.”
The LifeSong Contemporary Worship service at Grace UMC creatively combines a unique blend of Methodist traditions with modern media and praise and worship music. The LifeSong Worship Team is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who seek to grow closer in their personal relationship with God while using their gifts to lead others in worship each Sunday. We believe that God has called us ALL to worship him and that he has gifted each of us with specific skill sets to bring glory to his name. Whether it is playing a musical instrument, singing, or running the soundboard in the tech booth, there are numerous opportunities for individuals to serve each and every week at LifeSong. If you believe that God has gifted you with skills to serve in this ministry, please contact Michael Keltz right away for more information. We would love to have you as part of the team!
